http://www.tngenweb.org/goodspeed/perry/index.html), Lobelville was a post-village on the west side of Buffalo River, about five miles below Beardstown. It was established in 1854 and named after Henry De Lobel, a French immigrant, who remained here seventeen years and then returned to France. The village contains three stores and a schoolhouse and church combined. Mr. De Lobel left his mark in a cave which is no longer accessible.
